NEW DELHI, MARCH 14 – "It's them who came in large numbers and started stone-pelting. There was no provocation from our side" Said Muhammad Rizwan hailing from Noor Ilahi area near Bhajanpura in North East Delhi. Rizwan has been admitted with bullet injuries at Al Shifa Hospital, Okhla here. 

It was on 24th February, Rizwan told India Tomorrow " I went out for buying my share of ration rice. There was a large crowd on the opposite side of the road. Muslims from our streets started gathering to know what's happening. The mob then started pelting stones on us without any provocation. I could hear them shouting Jai Shri Ram" Rizwan added that then they started firing and he was hit on his abdomen. The bullets pierced through his stomach and cut his intestinal walls. He was taken to Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) Hospital where his bullets were removed. Rizwan also told a couple of others also were shot of which one succumbed to his injuries. 

Muhammad Usman, brother of Rizwan alleged that his brother was treated badly at the GTB Hospital. " There was leakage after the first operation. After the second operation, he was kept in ventilator as his condition worsened. Efforts for stitching went incomplete for the third time. He was then discharged and sent home even as his wife resisted" - Usman added. He was later taken to Al Shifa Hospital where his condition is stable. An operation to join his cut intestine is yet to be done.

Rizwan  lives in a rented house with his wife and two children works at a steel furniture shop.
