I eat all kind of meat (even brain or frog legs, also duck, pork, veal, beef, chicken or deer) and all kind of food and I feel great like billions of people on earth! Nobody will never tell me what to eat or not, they can go to hell now. I can't believe that these killing behaviours based on food preferences still exist in 2015... Donna, It is nice to have facts before making a comment. India is a secular country (look that word up) with a Hindu majority. All religions are to be respected and followed. Saudi on the other hand is a Muslim country and the comparison to Mecca was unfair. In this case the man was only thought to have consumed beef when a calf went missing. This was no proof. We live in a country where the communal differences and hatred is created by politicians. Also all religions should respect their fellow country men. Why any community should eat beef when in India. Why are politicians dictating to the citizens of India what diet they should be consuming, don't they know the constitution of FREE INDIA? Then it should be made mandatory that all candidates volunteering to serve the citizens of India first study the constitution and come forward with pure heart, mind and soul to be of service to the people of India. We elect them to serve but do not qualify them to dictate terms what we should be eating. They should educate rather than dictatorship.

Time to take stringent action against the temple authorities who actually sent rumours and mobilised the angry mob. Eating beef is banned in UP. Why would any individual take laws in their hand. If late Mohd Akhlaque would have been found to be culprit the law of the land could have punished him and not any morale dictators.

The sad fact is that Ms Dey should not take these things very lightly- it may really not be safe. The goons have been so much emboldened by the government at the centre that they think they can get away with anything. The sad part is that even those who were supporting the dead person were trying to prove that the meat was not beef- as if it were beef, there would be sufficient justification. We are turning into a hypocrite nation where the people inside do not eat beef, and we are becoming among the largest exporters of beef in the world ( btw. most of these exporters are Hindu). Hence if cow is our mother, it is okay if others eat our mother as long as they pay us in foreign exchange.
