Dr. Anwar Named In Another Riot Chargesheet, His Counsel Says It Is Just To Harass The Doctor
Senior Adv Mehmood Pracha, representing Dr. Anwar in courts said, “There is nothing serious in the second chargesheet. This has been done just to harass him. It is Dr. Anwar who talked to the Delhi High Court Judge S. Murlidhar for getting ambulance to admit the serious riot victims to government hospitals. Judge has been transferred. But doctor is still there. This is being done to harass him and nothing else”.

NEW DELHI, JULY 3— The owner of Al Hind Hospital in Mustafabad, Dr. Mohammed Ehtesham Anwar, who treated a large number of persons injured during February 24-26 riots in Northeast Delhi, has been named in another chargesheet filed by the police.
Earlier, his name found mention in the chargesheet pertaining to the murder of one Dilbag Negi.
The second chargesheet filed on June 2 in Karkardooma court says that AAP councillor Tahir Hussain, who is named as an accused in the murder of Intelligence Bureau official Ankit Sharma and also in a riot case in Khajuri Khas, was in touch with Dr. Anwar involved allegedly with organising the anti-CAA protests near Farooqiya Masjid.
According to the chargesheet, Tahir Hussain, since the start of anti-CAA agitation, was also in touch with persons including Liyakat Ali, Irshad, Shadab, Abid, Mohammad Rehman alias Arshad Pradhan, who are already arrested and with Khalid Saifi, an anti-CAA protester and arrested from Jagatpuri area, Haji Mangta of Chand Bagh, Haji Ballo of Shri Ram Colony at Khajuri Khas, Wajid Khan of Shaheen Bagh.
In a flowchart mentioning the actions of people involved in the riots/anti-CAA protests and attached with the chargesheet, the police alleged that Dr. Anwar and other anti-CAA protest organisers, along with Tahir Hussain had hatched a well-planned and deep-rooted conspiracy to engineer large scale riots in Northeast Delhi. The chargesheet holds these persons responsible for the death of 53 persons in the riot, injury to hundreds of others and destruction of properties worth hundreds of crores of rupees, besides causing social disharmony in the society.
Reacting to his name finding mention in the two chargesheets, Dr. Anwar told India Tomorrow, “I know that my name has been inserted in the chargsheet of AAP councillor Tahir Hussain as a flow chart. My counsel is aware of it”.
He rejected the allegations levelled against him by the police in the two chargesheets. “There is no basis in the police allegations”, he said.
Dr. Anwar said that Tahir Hussain was a local councillor. “I used to talk to him though I was not at good terms with him because I was close to AAP MLA, Haji Yunus. Tahir and Yunus belonged to different camps in the Aam Admi Party. The party wanted to field Tahir for assembly election. But I opposed this. Finally ,the party fielded Haji Yunus who is at present representing Mustafabad constituency in the Delhi Assembly”, he said.
“The local politicians of the rival group might have been bringing pressure on the police for framing me in the riot cases”, the doctor said.
Senior Adv Mehmood Pracha, representing Dr. Anwar in courts said, “There is nothing serious in the second chargesheet. This has been done just to harass him.
