By IndiaTomorrow.net,

New Delhi, 01 Aug 2015: Prof. Anup Surendranath has resigned as Deputy Registrar (Research) in the Supreme Court of India while terming the execution of Mumbai blast terror convict Yakub Memon as "final nail". In a facebook post just after midnight Friday (31 July), he said: "I have been contemplating this for a while now for a variety of reasons, but what was played out this week at the Supreme Court was the proverbial final nail - I have resigned from my post at the Supreme Court to focus on death penalty work at the University."

Prof. Anup is a faculty at the National Law University, Delhi. He said he would write about the last week SC events related to Memon's case.

"It is in many ways liberating to regain the freedom to write whatever I want and I hope to make full use of that in the next few days to discuss the events that transpired at the Supreme Court this week," he wrote.

Couple of hours after the hanging of Memon on 30th July morning in Nagpur jail, Prof. Anup while commenting on the execution wrote on his facebook page:

"It would be silly and naive to see the events of the last 24 hours at the Supreme Court as some triumph of the rule of law - the two orders at 4pm on 29th July and 5am on 30th July (and the reasoning adopted therein) are instances of judicial abdication that must count amongst the darkest hours for the Supreme Court of India."

He was appointed as the Deputy Registrar (Research) last year in May.

Really, although I cannot relate that pain to lose someone in that blast, BUT STILL I WANTED TO BREAK EACH AND EVERY BONE OF TERRORIST YAKUB. SURRENDER? OF HE REALLY WAS AN INDIAN, HE WOULD HAVE GOT DAWOOD AND TIGER MEMON ARRESTED, BUT THAT BASTARD WAS A REAL PIMP. HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN HANGED DAILY. NOT ONLY HIM, BUT EVERY TERRORIST, RAPISTS, AND WHOSOEVER THINKS S/HE IS GOD OR WHATEVER OR DOES CRIMES IN THE NAME OF GOD. BLOODY.

It is disappointing to see how people are raising doubts about the hanging of a victim. The same lot of people will be ready to kill when anything happens to brethren. When a muslim wants to marry more than once then he wants to follow shariya law and on issues like rape or murder he wants to follow softer law of Indian Constitution. Muslim law follows an eye for an eye kind of justice and Yakub was a mass murder if possible we could have kept him alove to kill him everyday.

Dear Rama Raju whats your opinion about 2000 in Gujarat and 900 death of Muslim community in Mumbai. We also feel pain when one is killed during communal riots.

Why Gujarat happened.60 innocents burnt alive without any reason in godhara.if Muslims in minority can do godhara like incident then they can do anything if they are in majority.u can go to any Muslim dominated area u can feel the kind of terror.if Gujarat is unacceptable then bomb blast is also unacceptable.before 2002 Gujarat used see riots every year.

As per Economics time news paper usne khud surrender kiya , ye soch kar k India Ka kanoon I saaf pasand hai, magar uskay saath nainsafi hui, agar usko malum hota k usse itni lambi saza aur zillat fir Fansi to kabhi apne Mulk Hinduatan k kanoon par bharosa nahi karta, aur Qiu Marne k liye khud wapas ataa, jab marna hi hai to jail ki chaar diwari k andar Qiu wo to araam se tha, magar wo khud ayaa ! Ab mai kiya likhu aur kaise likhu k hame Pura bharosa hai hamare Mulk k kanoon par.

It's really horrible to see the capital punishment given Mr yakub as there was no perfection of jus involvement in Mumbai blast it's just a circusam way and one side decision while president forgiven many more case of capital punishment ordered by supreme courte of india. Then why yakub not forgiven..... its not justice it's all blind law

Dear Indians brothers and sisters, let us not forget that British had ruled India because of the divide and rule policy. Now that India is aan independent nation let us be righteous people and raise our voices in unison against injustice irrespective of religion. Let us not give it a communal colour. If Memon was wrong let all of us consider at last justice is done. If he was innocent then let us raise our voice. But we should respect the law of the country and hold supreme court's judgment as final. Supreme courts judges are human beings and are not perfect. They are bound to commit errors. But let us not forget that they are working under tremendous pressure, and we have to respect their decision.Let us not forget that if the Muslim community has produced the likes of Dawood, it has also given us the likes of APJ Abdul Kalam. The Hindus do love him. We should love and respect good people irrespective of his or her religion. We should stop having a biased opinion of anyone. Please avoid addressing each other and using a disrespectful manner. We are Indians, and let us speak the language of an Indian and not that of a Hindu or a Muslim.

A hypocrite [Late Menon] is a person whose action in life are incompatible with his belief. Such a man gives up neither sin nor prayer. Allah is his social or political need not his religious demand. His lot is the torture of despair and ceaseless agony.
