NEW DELHI, MARCH 07— The Delhi Waqf Board has announced to repair all shops and homes damaged during the three-day long violence in the northeast Delhi last month. Delhi Waqf Board chairman and MLA Amanatullah Khan released Rs 50 lakh on Friday to start the repair work.

 

“The Construction Committee of Delhi Waqf Board will start full repair work of all the torched and damaged shops and homes, irrespective of which religion their owners belong to. Today I have given Rs 50 lakh to the committee to start the work,” tweeted Khan in Hindi Friday night.

 

In the violence between Feb 23 and 25, hundreds of homes and shops were looted and torched by rioters. Hundreds of vehicles were also set afire.
