New Delhi: Jan 18—Vishwa Hindu Parishad ex-district president Upendra Raghav and prime accused in Bulandshahr lynching incident has surrendered in the CJM court.  The court has sent him to jail under judicial custody for 14 days.

His name had appeared in the FIR launched by SI Subhash Chand who accused 27 persons by name and 50 other without name in the FIR after the December 3 incident in which Inspector Subodh Kumar had died after a bullet injury when a mob attacked him on the suspicions of abetting cow slaughter in the district.

This is the second time an accused has surrendered in this case. Before him, another prime accused Vishal Tyagi had surrendered before the court and had been sent to a 14 day judicial custody.

Bajrang Dal leader Yogesh Raj, who is both a prime accused in the lynching incident and also a complainant as he filed an FIR against cow slaughter, was arrested on January 3 and sent to judicial custody. He will be soon produced in the court.

Meanwhile, his photos are still appearing on hoardings in Bulandshahr. In one such hoarding congratulating people for Makar-Sankranti festival, his image along with his designation in Bajrang Dal as district convener, could be seen.
